Comments _ #9 was the closest to a slash Harlequin romance I've ever seen (that's a compliment, by the way). Written better than an off-the-shelf Harlequin, if I remember correctly from 20 years ago. For second place, I also thought #10 was good, but I found the 'learning to swear' scenes in #2 too hilarious to ignore.

Comments _ Story #6 had me laughing so hard & loud at 4:00 AM I thought I'd wake the neighbors! Story #2 - just like #6 - portrayed the characters so vividly, according to my own grasp lights, plus giving us the wonderful Henry & his relationship with Methos, that it won out over #3 (Trickster Matthias) and #4 (Betrothed to Kronos) by a handy margin! This is the most wonderful group of stories I've read (except Maygra's of course) since I started reading HL fanfic! Also - more of Connor than I've seen altogether! Nobody seems to like him much! Big grin! But I do! Wonderful imaginative stories! Incredible! Thanks for the contest!

Comments _ It was hard to choose, but I felt #7 was well written and more closely adhered to the "rule". For second place it was hard to choose between #3 and #2. #2 was gently humorous and well done, but someting about "Mathias" just held me. #6 gave me fits of laughter. The term "Quickening Bud" will never leave me! <g> I also greatly enjoyed #9. It put me in mind of a great bodice-ripper epic like The Wolf and the Dove. All in all the Swords at Sunset contest was thoroughly enjoyable! Thanks to all the authors for providing such grand entertainment.
