Okay, I know I' picking this up in the middle of the series, but such are
the vagaries of PBS and my VCR.
This sort-of spinoff from "All Creatures Great and Small" concerns a rural
vet, Noah, whose son, Tom, is a big city vet. At the beginning of the series,
Noah is found to have diabetes and Tom returns home, somewhat reluctantly,
to help out with the practice.
This episode concerns Liza, who is doing a tree preservation thingee on
her farm, using the lovely Clydes she has, instead of machinery. Anyhoo,
Murphy, the wheel Clyde, has contracted a hoof abscess and Tom has come
to give her a second opinion, which is, sadly, that the horse should be
put down. |

Noah nearly gets run down in town.
Claire, the small animal vet with the practice, has a converation with
Tom about poor Liza, out there all by herself, with her sweety off in Scotland,
maybe never to return. |
